FRANCE Guest of Honor 2011

France was Guest of Honor this round. French Ambassador in Egypt Jean Felix- Paganon headed a delegation to the exhibition. The visit was followed by a meeting attended by businessmen and members of the French Chamber of Commerce in Cairo and governmental officials.

The Country Guest of Honour is among the most successful features of CAIRO ICT, a tradition that started in 2008, hosting Finland as Country Guest of Honour.

This tradition has continued throughout all the subsequent rounds of CAIRO ICT featuring Malaysia, the U.S.A and France.

Despite the political upheaval, France, CAIRO ICT 2011 Country Guest of Honour, displayed full support for Egypt as its strategic and first commercial partner in the near east of many years. The post revolution visit of the French Foreign Minister materialized into immediate economic and commercial cooperation; hence, CAIRO ICT played host to a number of match-making and partnership arrangements, high profile French Gala dinner, and networking activities were incorporated within the event.
